Russell M. Bliss

Russell M. Bliss, 90, of Saint James, Missouri, passed a few weeks after his 90th birthday, peacefully in his sleep on April 7, 2024. 

Russell Martin Bliss was born to the late Irene and George Bliss on March 18, 1934 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was a devoted Christian, loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. 

Russell spent his early years hauling waste oil for his company. After retiring, he spent his time collecting classic cars and memorabilia. He also loved horseback riding and quality time (and food) with his friends and family. He was kind, generous, fearless and extraordinary in every way. He will truly be missed. 

Russell is survived by his wife, Rose Bliss; his children: Jerry Bliss, Cash Bliss and wife Crystal, Savannah Morgan and husband Jose and Rhianna Bliss; a sister, Susan Hardesty and husband Louie; grandchildren: Hannah Bliss, Courtney Harrop and husband Alex, Lexus Spencer and husband Michael, Zoey and Joey Bliss and Killian Morgan; great grandchildren: Thane and Chase Harrop, Jonathon and Emmett Spencer; a sister in law, Bonnie Goodman, Mila Chapman and Vilma Lynch; two brothers in law, Ron Lynch and Tom Benedict. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Bliss; his parents, Irene and George Bliss; mother and father in law, Lena and William Schlueter and Susing and Catalino Salili; daughter in law, Natalie Bliss; sister in law, Margarita Salili Lauron; two brothers in law, Bill Schlueter and Sherwin Lauron; friends: Walter Breeden, Wayne Prince, Clifford Swartz, Delbert Eskew, Ted (Teddy) Orr, Karen Lambarth and John Woolsey. 

A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. 

The family wished to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindess shown to them during this hour of bereavement. May God bless and keep you all.
