Terry Ray Thomure

Terry Ray Thomure, aged 72, passed away on March 7, 2024, in his hometown of Longview, Texas.  He was born on July 27, 1951, in Bonne Terre, MO. Terry's family relocated from the Farmington area to Sullivan Missouri during his childhood.  Terry was known for his love of his family, his little buddy Sadie and just about any sport, particularly his Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.  Although he moved to Texas, his heart always belonged to his beloved St. Louis Cardinals.

 

Terry's educational journey led him to graduate from Sullivan High School in 1969 where he graduated in the top ten of his class.  He loved playing football, tennis, basketball, track and baseball.  After high school, Terry went on to obtain a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.   He is survived by his sons, Thomas Thomure and wife Jenniffer, Nicholas Thomure, his brother Tim Thomure and wife Susanne, as well as 8 grandchildren - Ronin, Dock, Isabella, Kylee, Emma, Spencer, Reagan, and Kate.   He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Leslie "Bus" Thomure, mother, Maxine Isabel Thomure, and his son, Phillip B. Thomure.

 

In his free time, Terry enjoyed bass fishing and shooting pool as well as a good cigar and watching various sports, especially when it involved his beloved grandchildren.  He was well travelled and active in his church.  Terry had a distinct sense of humor and could make people laugh wherever he was. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

 

Memorial services will be held at Spring Bluff Missionary Baptist Church, 5730 Highway AC, Sullivan, MO 63080 on April 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.  Luncheon to follow.
