Eagles Baseball Savors Sweet 11-5 Win Over St. James Tigers
The Eagles (7-3) feasted on both the St. James Tigers (1-5) and Skittles in an 11-5 win at home on Monday, Apr. 9. Each Sullivan player was given candy for each time they reached third base.
Leadoff batter Gavin Schmidt was hungry for both Skittles and a victory. He led his squad with four RBIs and four hits while recording a run. After the game, head coach Ian Whitson rewarded Schmidt with his first Most Valuable Player belt of the season.
Chase Blue racked up a team-high two runs. He also delivered an RBI, a hit and a walk.
Landen Doza dominated with three runs, a hit and a walk.
Lucas Parsons pulled off two RBIs and a hit.
Dayton Skaggs cooked up two hits, a run and an RBI.
Drake Gawer powered off with two hits, an RBI and a walk.
